Key Design’s mission is to promote inspirational and sustainable architecture to the general public.
Our Philosophy
Architecture is an expression of values, which are the cornerstone of our practice. At Key Design, LLC we believe that in order to be effective at creating good architecture, we must be great at design. And by D.E.S.I.G.N., we mean:
Duty – We are obligated to our clients as well as the public to endeavor to create beautiful safe spaces that meet clients organizational needs and building code standards.
Equity – The built environment is for everyone. We enable all voices to be heard in the creation and implementation of good design.
Service – As stewards of the built environment we have an unconditional responsibility to create sustainable, resilient and attractive spaces.
Integrity – We are driven to do what is right by our clients, our employees, the community and the environment, even when the right thing is the hard thing.
Grit – We DESIGN through passion and perseverance. Just as diamonds are made from heat, pressure and time, we too understand a good project sometimes has heat, pressure and time.
Nexus – At the center of a project is the concept, communication and understanding. We recognize we have a major role in formulating the project, its work flow and success. We hold this position in high regard and work honorably for a successful outcome.
From our technical design ability and tactical military leadership, our firm has over a decades of experience and a diverse portfolio that spans business/office, retail, medical office buildings, mix-use, religious, governmental and custom residential structures. We believe that each line drawn and every structure erected should resonate with the harmony of its environment. Our designs are conversations between form, function, and the fabric of the site, ensuring that every project is not only an aesthetic masterpiece but also an ecological ally.
Our team is our greatest asset – a diverse group of passionate architects, designers and artisans with a passion for problem-solving through design. Led by our founder, LaShaun Key, a decorated veteran with multicultural experiences, we are a firm that creatively solves your operational challenges through architectural design.
